Compass Quest - Tour Operator of Distinction


COMPASS QUEST GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

If a Tour Operator, Travel Agent, or PCO, hereafter referred to as the client, makes a booking on behalf of an individual traveller or group of travellers, the client warrants Compass Quest, that is authorised by each and every traveller of the group, to make the reservation on behalf of each and every such traveller and is acting as their agent and in so doing, binds each such traveller to these conditions.

Upon the reservations being accepted by Compass Quest, the client warrants that each and every traveller in such group has been informed of and is bound by the terms and conditions set out herein. The client indemnifies and hold harmless Compass Quest against all claims for damage, loss and / or injury which any traveller may claim against Compass Quest if such claim is excluded in terms hereof.

The client shall be obliged to pay -
A deposit of 10% of the total booking value at time of accepting a quotation by ordering Compass Quest to proceed with the necessary booking procedures. This 10 percent is non-refundable in case of any cancellation and will be utilized towards administration costs incurred.
A further 50 percent of the total booking value 60 days prior to first date of travel.
The balance of 40 percent of the total booking value 30 days prior to first date of travel.

Should any of Compass Quest’s suppliers require pre-payments outside of the stipulated periods and in excess of the deposited amount, this will be for the client’s account. Requested payments to suppliers will only be made once funds from the client have been received.

Should any reservation be cancelled, the following cancellation fees will be due and payable (except for Private Game Lodges, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia where more stringent cancellation fees apply, details of which will be obtained from the relevant suppliers at time of quotation or reservation. All cancellations must be made in writing and shall be effective only on the date on which Compass Quest receives such written notice of cancellation. Note that all percentages refer to the total booking value.
61 or more days prior to travel date 10% (deposit)
60 to 36 days prior to travel date 60%
35 to 0 days prior to travel date 100%

In the event of groups of 10 or more persons travelling :
Final number of travellers is required 60 days prior to travel date.
Final rooming list is required 35 days prior to travel date.

Quotations are valid for a period of three months unless otherwise stated in the quote. Quotations have to be requested in writing, by fax or e-mail. Telephonic quotes will not be binding unless both received and confirmed in writing by Compass Quest.

Outbound Tour Operators are encouraged to ensure that their clients have appropriate insurance cover.
